Two new zinc(ii) coordination complexes constructed by phenanthroline derivate: Synthesis and structure

Abstract Two new Zn( ii ) coordination complexes [Zn(L)(dna)(H 2 O)] ( 1 and [Zn(L)(glu)] ·H O (L = 2-(4-fluorophenyl)-1 H -imidazo[4,5- f ][1,10]phenanthroline, dna 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid, glu glutaric acid) have been hydrothermally synthesized characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, fluorescence spectrum, infrared spectroscopy. For complex , the 2− anion adopts μ -η :η chelating bidentate mode to coordinate with one atom π–π stacking interactions are formed between L ligands. anions connect atoms form a wavy two-dimensional layer, ligands attached on two sides of layer.
